  1. To steal $5 grand from you.  You can't cheat an honest man.

  2. hmm.. would it happen to be a 2007 altima hybrid for sale by steve mathis whos family just moved to some place in canada? yeah i saw that one on the manhattan craigslist, he even gave me a vin number for an actual altima hybrid, well ignore him, i knew this was a scam as soon as i saw it and i had a little fun letting him know that i was "very interested"

  3. Possibly because it needs an engine or the frame or undercarrige is bent or damaged.

  4. Very well known scam.

They're either "overseas", "divorcing", or "headed to Iraq". Plus, they'll offer to ship the car at no charge, and let you inspect it with a "7-day guarantee".

The reality: there is no car (the picture is pulled from another ad, or a dealer's page), the scammer is overseas, and once your bank wire goes through, the money and the scammer are gone. They've really become rather good at the craft lately (even pretending to be the "father of a dead teenager", and pulling the obituary in order to prove it).

Sad thing is that people still fall for it.

  5. Scam.

If I had a $20,000 car, I could easily sell it to any used car dealer for $10,000.  So why would I sell it for $5K?

    PURE SCAM.

    Good Luck....

  6. TO RIP YOU OFF!!!

THINK, WOULD YOU GIVE ME A TEN DOLLAR BILL IF I GAVE YOU A ONE DOLLAR BILL??

Don't let them make a sucker out of you.

Most of those ads are the same people that send you the "you have won 2.5 million dollars" But I need two thousand to process it for you!

  7. If it sounds too good to be true it's not worth your effort.  Get the Kelly bluebook rate for ANY used car that you are considering.  If the price is close, it might be worth considering, but if it is THAT much of a difference, either there is something REALLY wrong mechanically or it is just a scam.

    good luck,

    Tex
