I haven't really worked an awful lot with cameras before, but theres been so many times in my life when I looked at my surroundings and thought; "Wow, that is beautiful!" And I've always wanted to take a picture but I haven't been able to.

Therefore, I am looking for a camera that is great at taking scenery, I highly doubt I will use it for taking photos of ANY people, except maybe when they seem like part of the scenery. I am inexperienced so therefore want a simple camera that does not have too many extra functions (although I suppose I could play around with them to get an even better picture) and I'm hoping it will be lightweight and small so I can whip it out at any moment and take a shot. I will most likely put those images as a background on my computer.

So, if anybody could suggest some brands and models, define some common camera terms and what they imply(like megapixels and shutter speed) inform me on what I should look out for and generally help me out, that would be nice!

  1. For two hundred bucks you should be able to get a pretty decent camera.  I have a Nikon, but Canon is good and so is Olympus.  It's just a matter of what you want to do with it.  Get as much megapixels as you can afford, and nowadays we're talking up to seven to ten megapixels, which get into the professional range.  Many cameras also have a video function that allows several minutes of video.

if you just want to go cheap, they have those cheap 10 dollar cameras that go on your keychain.  Keep that with you wherever you go and build up a library of stuff.

  2. Cannon a-590

  3. I would look at Kodak Camera.  I had Kodak 6490 that took great  pictures with 10X optical zoom. I give it away when I thought I was upgrading to a $600.00 Camera.  The Kodak picture was quailty is the best of the two.  I miss the dock that came with the Kodak.  The battery was always  fully charged.  If you are not a professional the Kodak is the best buy for a Camera under $200.00 for my money.

    Good Luck
