..isn't enormous, I was just wondering, is there a device or something on the market that can magnify the projection? the reason I ask is, the room I plan to use is about 12ft x 9ft so the projection from 12ft away isn't going to be very large.

Apart from getting a bigger room, what would you suggest I do?

Also, how many inches diagonally would the projection be from 12 feet away?

  1. Look into buying LCD projectors they are perfect for short distance.

Wide variety of options over here: http://www.urlfunz.com/XNnKy

I would suggest to get 720p or 750p it is great for movies & games for your buck ;)

  2. Depending on the projector you get, there are some with interchangeable lenses.  You need a shorter focal length lens.  However, most projector zoom lenses can project about 100" (diag,16:9 format) picture from 12 ft.  Look at the specs, and if the zoom range is not given, call the mfr.  They should have a chart available showing max and min picture size vs distance.  Since you will probably watching from about 8 - 9 feet, 100" should be a decent-size picture.
