First Price range is from say $20-300.

I have smoked out of dozens of hookahs and i don't recommend buying a hookah under $50...there are few exceptions but they are hared to find.

All that is needed in buying a hookah is an ID. If buying online it's verified via your credit card. If your credit/debit card doesn't verify your age, as in your under 18, the credit card, they will decline your order.

The amount of tobacco all depends on the type of bowl. Like a traditional Egyptian bowl uses 5-15g of tobacco. Small Phunnel, (My primary Bowl,

This is my current goto hookah. It's amazing. Besides it's amazing looks, it can easily convert to a four hose autoseal hookah to a single traditional hookah. It was worth every penny!

As far as tobacco, I have smoked 80% of the brands out there, and I have determined that herbal is junk...tastes awful. I pretty much stick to three brands of Tobacco now, Romman, Nakhla, and Tangiers.

Tangiers is tricky and you might want to hold off on it for a while.

Hookahs can range from $30- HUNDREDS of dollars.  

Decide if you want one hose or more.  You pick how big the bowl is, and tobacco is usually not terribly expencive, and comes in wonderful flavors, I personally think the best is apple, but you will find peach and pear pretty commonplace as well.  I prefer self-igniting charcoal, it's really cool, and cuts down on time you have to sit around getting the perfect coals.  You should be sure the coal has finished sparking before you begin to smoke, it's burning off chemicals at that point.  You'll see what I mean when you get some.  Your hookah should come with tongs and a poker, and then you'll just need foil.  I never bother buying the hookah foil, the stuff out of your pantry works just as well.

Google "hookah" and start to pick the design and size you like.  These are generally MUCH LARGER than bongs, so keep that in mind.  You'll probably need a permanent place to keep yours.
