  1. Vented needs somewhere for the steam to go, so either by leading the hose out of the window, or having a hole put in the wall with a special cover so that the steam can go out that way without you having to have a window open, which can be a bit of a pain in winter or if you need to dry something overnight as it's not very safe security wise.

Condensers do not need this, but i've found them to not be as good energy rating wise when i have been looking for one and also my dad has one and he said he tries to avoid using it because it takes a while to dry. He's going back to vented when this one packs up!

  2. Condenser can be used indoors withou a vent to outside and without steaming up the house with condensation.

Condenser is ideal if tumble dryer is in kitchen or small flat.

I have a Creda Condenser and have been very happy with it.

  3. Vented are usually AA rated and use less energy(Electricity)

Try the manufactures web sites (Philips,Zanussi, Electrolux)

    or visit Comet/Currys>

    Good luck

  4. A vented one needs a hole putting through an outside wall, the condensing type don't but still tend to leave the room slightly damp, so I would go with the vented.

  5. whirlpool... they even have free services

  6. Condenser ones condense the steam into water and collects the water in a tray. A vent on has a pipe that you lead to outside or a separate condenser where the steam can go elsewhere and not steam your house up.

I have a vented one where I lead the pipe outside the window, and have heard that the condenser ones break easily, but not sure if that is true! Mine is indesit, but check ones that are energy efficient (A grade).
