I'm looking to drill a small hole in a glass bottle, what is the best way to do that?

the bottle is a little on the tick side and i tried a power drill but it wasnt giving me the progress i hoped for... suggestions/ideas?

Last time I saw anyone do this, it was years ago and it was a Coca Cola bottle. An old farmer put the bottle in a drill press upside down, and using very light pressure, he drilled through the bottom, It took about thirty minutes to do it, but it worked. I tried and put too much pressure on the bottle and shattered it when I tried the first few times. You really have to just set the bit on the glass, and let the bit do the work without using any pressure. It does take a while, I only managed to do it once.
