Also what are some brands that are less expensive (around $300 preferably less) but aren't gonna break on me? Does K2 make good bikes?

  1. Let's see...you're asking for a high-quality, inexpensive bike...afraid you're going to have a tough search.  I've been a serious rider for over 25 years, and I can tell you from experience spending a little extra on a bike is always worth it.  As for size, if you have normal proportions, I would venture a guess and say a 54 or 56 cm bike.  I've never personally ridden a K2, but I've heard good things about them.  You might try searching Craigslist or doing a Google search for bikes on sale or used.

  2. I don't understand dollars so cant help with price but you need to go to a dealer and get a bike that fits your leg length, back length and reach or you can end up with injuries and pain. Most dealers will give you the best advice but go to one with a wide range of makes not just a specialist dealer who promotes one make.
