I'm looking to join club volleyball seeing as how the season is almost ending, however...?

My skills aren't exactly 'brilliant,' and I'm scared I might not make tryouts. I'm 15 and pretty much a beginner. Would I still be able to join? I live in Southern California so can someone give me an estimate on the cost of joining? Another alternative I'm hoping for is being able to brush up on my skills through the clinics that they hold but am I still allowed to attend them if I'm not an official part of the club? Does anyone have any personal experience with this? Thanks.

  1. well my advice would be to ask around at ur school or ur coach or something and see if any knows any clinics....somebody should know somewhere! U could always look it u nline as well for ur area!

  2. You can still join a club.  Around Houston, clubs are from $800 to $2800 per season.  It does not include travel.

Attending camps put on by clubs is a different question.  You will have to check that out on a club by club basis.  I work for Asics Willowbrook here in Houston.  They have a skills camp on Sundays.  You pick which skill you want to attend and pay at the door.  You do not have to be part of Asics Willowbrook to take part in those camps.  However, once mid-November starts, there is very little spare gym time for players that are not part of the club.

  3. If your from socal there are tons of clubs or thing for volleyball out there ask your friends or so cause I imagine you have some that play volleyball

  4. yea you can still join a club team. i live in colorado but i dont think its much different there are the teams they expect you do b perfect and only except the best but then there is the other ones who will accept you and teach ur EVERYTHING even tho it cost alot its a great learning experence
