Not picky but just want a car which is good with gas, safe and not overpriced. My last car was a civic if that helps somehow and my favorite car of all time is Aston Martin Vanquish lol...

What kind of car would you suggest?

  1. I would suggest looking into the Camry, Accord or the Altima.

Here's a link to a payment comparison between the three cars.

If you have a bigger budget, you can look around the site and see other cars that may be of interest to you.

Visit Edmunds.com to do research on cars.

  2. Start your research on Edmunds.com and Cars.com. Look at specs, features, options, and prices -- including invoice prices and TMV prices. Look at SafeCar.gov for safety ratings. Look at ConsumerReports.org for reliability and customer satisfaction ratings. Narrow down your choices.

If you are thinking of leasing, select cars that hold their resale values since lease payments are lower for such cars. Brands such as Honda, Toyota, Infiniti, Acura, BMW, and Lexus come to mind. Here's an article with more details:

If you decide on a specific make and model, go online and find owner forums for that vehicle. Google on "Honda Civic forum" or whatever your make and model might be. Find out what other owers think about their cars.

  3. Well, I have a 2006 Civic and other than a few minor complaints (e.g. not being able to see my hood/front of car at all), I love it.  Great gas mileage, reliable, excellent service so far.  My second choice would have been a Toyota, but I've had better experiences with Honda and their ratings, mileage and cost were better when I bought.  If you want to go cheap, I've heard Hyundais are actually pretty decent too.  Mazdas are in right now as well.  If I had a lot of money, I might look at some of the European brands (e.g. BMW), but I can't see myself spending that much money on a car when my cheaper Civic has been so good to me.  Even Civics are getting expensive now.  My only regret is wishing there hadn't been a six month waiting list for Civic Hybrids at the time...I wanted one, but needed a car within a month.

  4. It's generally better financially to buy instead of lease. You should also look used. With that said whats your price range?
