i'm an electrician and would rather sponsership than going over by chance. whats the best way to go about getting sponsership

Some people are reluctant to sponsor someone, as they don't really know who they are getting until they meet up and see them work. So if you have trouble getting a sponsor I would think take the chance as  electricians I have come across always seem to have plenty of work .

you could e mail the electricians union or employment agenices in australia.  We are short of skilled workers so probably a good bet would be to see if someone you will get a job with can sponsor you.

You could look up on google:  telstra telephone directory  and the city you want:  Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth,etc.

if you are planning on moving to australia for good it will take more than a year to get immigration sorted out,thats if you qualify

There are a few ways you could go about it.You could always apply for a skilled visa,but it can take a while to process.You could also come here on a one year working visa and after working with a company for awhile you could ask them if they would sponsor you.

My husband has had a few of his friends come to Australia on a working visa to Australia from Ireland and ended up being sponsored by the company that they worked for.

I just rang my husbands friends and they said that there are heaps of jobs at the moment with  Irish companies.Ones called CLM excavations PTY LTD.

You will also have to get a health and safety card before you can work on any building site.

It's a day course.You more or less just listen to what has to be said and take a few notes.The course costs around $200.

Every state has their own health and safety card,and can't be used in another state.You do the course through TAFE.The courses are not every day,so when you know what state you will be working in,it's a good idea to have yourself booked into the course before you come if you can.

I can also ask my husband and his  friends for construction companies in other states if you would like me to.
