Found a specialist paint in B&Q for painting outdoor surfaces and PVC was included. Planning to paint it white.

  1. I would check out the link below. I know someone who sells PVC and you must follow directions when painting or there could be trouble.

  2. no i dont think u should paint it...it will chip away quickly even with a primer just leave it or if it bothers you that much buy a new door.

A white door isnt as welcome as a brown one.

  3. My neighbour painted her pvc door a dark red. OMG it was awful looking. Really tacky. You might get away with white though.

  4. Painting UPVC is far from ideal.  Just because a paint will stick or dry onto UPVC doesn't necessarily mean it will stay on there long.  Once you have painted it once, you'll be commited to painting it thereafter.  UPVC doors usually have tight closing tolerances that don't allow for coats of paint.

I would only do it if your dark brown is so ugly that a badly painted white door is preferable - otherwise poor painting practise and not worth it.

  5. It will look better white than brown, if it is the proper type of paint.

  6. Yes I would go with white, it's the safest bet! Don't do any bold and tacky colors because soon it will go out of style and you're gonna be stuck with that door! Have fun with your project!
