I'm looking to pierce my nipple and i need some advice?

i'm looking to pierce my nipple, and i'm going to do it myself.

everyone says not to becuase of infection and i understand that.

if i'm going to do this, i'm going to do it the right way.

so does anyone know how i can get an 18 or 16 gauge cannula needle?

and any suggestions on proper sanitizing?

would hydrogen peroxide do or should i buy something more advanced?

Do not pierce your nipple yourself. Even if a professional did it you could get an infection, suffer nerve damage or worse. What happens when you have children and want to breast feed. What if the ornament  you put in gets caught on something and tears your nipple. What if you meet someone who finds it disgusting.What if you decide it was a bad idea. Try a "clip on" first, you may find it is not what you really want.

Well, you asked for advice and here's mine:   Just go get it done by professional....why would you want to peirce yourself and endanger yourself???  I don't know if you are into the whole body piercing taboo thing, but just don't do it yourself.  

Here's my opinion:  Don't bother getting a nipple piercing period.  Who are you going to flaunt it to???  Personally, I think it looks rather silly.

Honestly, i have mine done and i wouldn't recommend doing it yourself. I would suck it up and go to a parlor to get it done. It's not just because of infection, it's also because if it's done incorrectly the nipple can reject the piercing and push it out, causing these really weird looking scar tissue bumps on the sides of the nipple which make the healing suck as well. And you do not EVER want to use Hydro Peroxide on a new piercing, it kills off the cell growth that helps with the healing and drys out the skin.

It shouldn't cost you more to go get it done by someone who does it for a living than what getting the needles and jewelery to do it yourself would, and you'll be a lot happier in the process. You don't realize how much stuff hits/rubs up against your nipples till they hurt like h**l.

You seem to have made up your mind, but I STRONGLY advise against doing it yourself.  Personally, that area is pretty special to me, and the thought of having any kind of permanent  nerve damage (Which happned to sonmeone I know) scares the heck out of me.  I just wouldn't risk something that important without using a professional.

BTW, Hydrogen Peroxide doesn't do anything.

Are you crazy?  Do not do this.  Can you say INFECTION????  No one sees your piercing but they sure will when you go into the hospital with an infection.

The only way to properly sterilize a needle is to use an autoclave. Good luck finding one of those...

Personally i say go to a piercer.

For one thing, it is VERY hard to pierce your own nipple. I've actually heard of people passing out from trying to.

You can get hollow needles from most piercing places - and definatly online.

As far as sterilization, your best bet is a autoclave - but they dont come cheap.

If you just whent to a good , hygenic piercer, they would have the correct needle, autoclave, gloves, clamps , jewerlly - infact everything needed already. It's alot cheaper, and safer too.
