  1. go to your local library and check out whatever they have in spanish (they should have tapes/CDs to teach SPanish as well as magazines, children's books, and regular novels in that language)

    also, try going to Spanish-only websites online to practice some common words and to understand better

    you could also look up what Itunes has available for free...

  2. First of all I am so glad you feel better, secondly that is a way cool school.

    Start reading Spanish books. Read them out loud to yourself ,your dog, or your Spanish speaking friends. Start writing down words you don't know and then finding a way to use them in a sentence daily. After looking up the meaning of the word of course. Good luck it is hard to pick up where you left off in a language but I am sure you can do it.

  3. Hi;

    Another way to start practicing and understanding a little bit more is watching TV in spanish. Only for an hour or two a day and then start adding reading. Reading books and magazines in spanish are a great help as well. Then once you feel you are ready to speak it; try to establish a conversation with people who speaks the language . I bet you will do great after that. El espanol es un lenguaje bonito.

    Buena Suerte.

  4. Do your parents or friends speak it? If so, speak with them only in spanish. If not,  you can use the internet only in spanish. Instead of using the English Yahoo! Answers use the en Espanol.

  5. Get a boyfriend thats fluent in spanish!

  6. Find some native speakers or fluent speakers, or other people who have interest in the language to practice with.

    You could start your own coffee group, find some inexpensive or free advertising, add word of mouth, and you should be able to get a few people together to practice speaking.

    Other people have already suggested Spanish TV, there's usually some sort of educational program (often at wierd hours like 2AM) on PBS, so check their listings, too.  And many dvds have the option of switching their language, but for actual speaking, there's nothing as good as actually DOING it.

    Personally, I talk to myself in Spanish sometimes, just to keep fluent.

    As with anything, if you don't use it, you tend to lose it.
