It's just about living in Paris. You have a character and you role-play with other members. You can form relationships and live out your life.

  1. So many, so many... I'm giving you a few.

For young adults to have fun, Bastille, rue Oberkampf, full of establishments with music and not very expensive food. Friday and Saturday those places are full of people having fun till the early morning hours. For students, despite the tourists, it is still around Place St Michel for cheap food. You also have Bercy village, which has been developed a few years back (old workshops changed into trendy restaurants and boutiques). Around Montparnasse is the place to go eat crepes, plenty of restaurants breton (from Britanny). Crepes, sweet and salted, are their speciality, you drink cider with those.

You avoid tourist traps like Montmartre, Pigalle (ugh)...

You want to go to the opera, Opera Garnier, Opera Bastille.

A famous food market, rue Mouffetard (very touristy as well). But you have plenty of them every day of the week in Paris.

Chinese area, 13th Arrondissement between Place d'Italie and the Peripherique (ring road).

Flea markets : Vanves, Clignancourt, St Ouen (with antiquaries). Those are the exits doors of Paris by the way.

You want to study at University : Sorbonne, of course, Descartes to name two.

You are upper class : you live in the 16th, the 8th, the 5th, 6th arrondissements.

You are poor : you live in the outer arrondissements in the north, east, south (Paris arrondissements are like a snail shell, the 1st is at the center and the others go around it clockwise). Arrondissements with plenty of immigrants are traditionally the north ones, 18th, 19th, 20th.

Cinemas : you have multiplex on the Champs Elysees, at the Halles, at Bercy. You also can go to small cinemas showing those films that never make it on the big screens, by authors you never heard of.

Want to buy some computer stuff, you go to Surcouf, a huge shop on the boulevard Daumesnil.

The famous trendy grands magasins (big retailers) where you can buy anything relating from clothes, jewellery, perfume, books, dvds : Printemps, Galeries Lafayette (behind the Opera Garnier), BHV by the Hotel de Ville, le Bon Marche (expensive upper class).

Very upper class  shops are in Rue du Faubourg Saint Honore, the prices go with the expensive cars parked double lined in that narrow but very long street.

Supermarkets names : Discount (cheap), Franprix (middle range depending where it is situated) Monoprix (expensive).

Hope this helps. Those are broad generalities of course.

  2. Hey...that sound like an interesting game. Well....I went to Paris once and keys points not to be missed are the Louvre (of course!!), Montmarte, Eiffel, Notre Dame and a walk along Seine while eating crepes ....

  3. What type of RP game? A mystery? A thriller? A shoot em up? Historical?

EDIT: Okay, I think I understand. Do you want specific locations or classes of places they might go?

Like "the street market on the rue due Buci" or just street markets generally?

This could really be a fun thing to put together.

Players could have to choose what arrondissement or neighborhood to live in and have thier social class or profession adjusted accordingly.
