Question:

I'm making appetizers for seven people tonite. Any ideas?

What I need is something to pass around before dinner. Any ideas would be helpful....

  1. shrimp with cocktail sauce, deviled eggs, put salmon or tuna on a cracker. Don't give out too much so that they don't spoil dinner! have fun!


  2. Bruschetta.  Good bread and artisan cheese. Smoked salmon & cream cheese on squares of pumpernickel or rye bread with capers and chopped red onion.

    Bruschetta

    ingredients

    4 Fresh Garden Tomatoes

    3 cloves garlic

    Roasted red peppers (from jar or made)

    Basil

    Parsley

    Olive oil

    1 loaf of Baguette bread

    preparation

    Rough chop tomatoes and peppers.

    Combine tomatoes, peppers, minced garlis, chopped basil and chopped parsley. Pour olive oil over ingredients and let stand.

    Slice bread and paint each side with olive oil. On cookie sheet lay out slices to toast in oven on broil setting. Flip once one side is lightly browned. Place bread in basket on table. Let guest select slice of bread and pour brushetta on top.

    INGREDIENTS

    1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

    1 cup sour cream

    2 tablespoons taco seasoning mix

    3/4 cup salsa

    3/4 cup shredded lettuce

    3/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

    DIRECTIONS

    Combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream and taco seasoning on a large plate or in a pie plate. Spread the salsa on top of the cream cheese-sour cream mixture. Top with lettuce and cheddar cheese.

  6. These were a big hit at my husbands 50th.....

    Crab Delights

    9 slices bread, crust cut off

    7.5 oz. can crabmeat, flaked

    1 small onion, finely diced

    1 cup grated cheddar cheese

    1 cup mayonaise

    1 tsp. dillweed

    1/2 tsp. salt

    cut each slice of bread into 4 squares. mix crab, onion, cheese, mayo, dillweed and salt. Spread on bread. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet or broiler pan. Broil several minutes until golden and bubbly.

    or

    Bacon Shrimp

    1 lb. medium cooked shrimp, shell removed

    1/2 tsp. garlic powder

    salt

    15 slices bacon,each piece cut into 3 sections

    Sprinkle shrimp with garlic & salt. Wrap each shrimp with a piece of bacon. Broil 8-10 minutes or until bacon is crisp. makes 45

    take thin sliced ham and spread cream cheese on 1 side. place a pickle spear on edge and roll up in ham. Cut each into bite size pieces and refridgerate until ready to serve.

    1 Pkg. Cream Cheese

    1 Jar Salsa

    1 Bag Cheddar/Jack (any one really works fine)

    Spread cream cheese on bottom, top with salsa and top with cheese.

    Bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until cheese is melted.

    I hate cream cheese but I love this!

  10. Try these...easy and delicious!

    Moroccan Bites

    2 small cans chopped black olives

    1 small bunch green onions, chopped

    2 cups shredded cheese (use more or less depending on your taste)

    1 cup mayo

    2 tablespoons curry powder

    salt and pepper to taste

    English muffin halves

    (I approximated all measurments because I never measure this recipe...I just throw the ingredients in)

    Combine all ingredients, except english muffins.  Spread mixture onto english muffins, pressing lightly.  Cut each muffin half into 6 small triangles.  Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or so.

  11. Tortilla Roll-Ups

    12 (14-ounce package) flour tortillas

    8 ounces cream cheese, softened

    1 cup sour cream

    1 (4-ounce) can chopped green chiles

    3 tablespoons chopped green onion

    2 tablespoons finely chopped red bell pepper

    12 ounces sharp Cheddar cheese, grated

    1 cup salsa or picante sauce

    In a medium bowl combine cream cheese, sour cream, chilies, onion, red bell pepper, and Cheddar cheese. Mix thoroughly. Spread onto tortillas and roll up. Cover tightly and chill for 2 hours or overnight. When ready to serve, cut each roll into 1/2-inch slices. Serve with salsa or picante sauce.
