I want to make sure this runs smooth and I'm well prepared to move into my new place... I'm also worried about forgetting something...

ex: change address(where), cancel cable, internet, etc...

  1. What they said above me... but for address change, the postal service has an online option for this. They charge a dollar for this, but since you don't have to drive to the post office it's worth it (the drive probably costs you a dollar anyways)

  2. For a smother move you will need a good moving company like Box. When you have also little time to pack your belongings

  3. Do you keep at least a month's worth of bills lying around?  If so, go through them and call each place and make the necessary changes.  You can get your address changed and your mail forwarded at your local post office.  Don't forget to give your new address to anyone that sends you a bill.  Here are some bills that I can think of that you might have:

Gas, electric, phone, cell phone, internet, cable, garbage, water & sewer, recycling, student loans, doc offices, credit cards, any rent that is unpaid.

If you are renting, don't forget to leave your apt. clean.  You might have a nice deposit check coming back to you!
