I've lived in my apartment for 3 yrs and now I'm moving out. A few questions so it can be spick and span so I can get my security deposit back...

1. How can I get my parquet floors (I think it's fake wood) nice and shiney around the area the litterbox is? You know the litter dust kind of makes them look dirty so I want to brighten them up.

2. What product is best for STUBBORN soap scum and to get my bathtub sparkling white?

3. There are some marks on the wall from furniture... is there anything I can do besides paint over them?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  1. Question 1. I have no clue.  My apt had carpet everywhere.

Question 2. Mr. Clean Magic erasers. The name says it all. When I moved into my apt. I used them on everything. They even get the blacks scuff marks off of tile floors from shoes.

Question 3. Painting is all i can think of, besides that after you move out they'll paint anyways.

I know i only answered one of the three but the magic erasers really do work!

    Good luck!

  2. first question: mop and wax is the only thing that I can think of for that.

question two: I use comet cleanser and rinse well, then I spray it all with Tilex shower cleaner.

question 3, do spot painting if it can be matched. don't go to a bunch of trouble.

  3. Give your floors a once over with a terry cloth mop that has been dampened and use a spray bottle filled with 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water. This prevents over wetting and a long drying time. Once dried, give it a going over with some mop n glo floor shining product. This will make the floor brilliant as long as you cost it evenly.

The tubs and shower stalls can be sprayed with a product called Soft Scub Foaming Cleanser. SPray it on, wait 5 minutes then scrub away with a 3m scrubber such as Dobie or Scotchbrite.

You can use a Mr Clean Magic Eraser to possibly get rid of those marks from the furniture. If that doesn't work then forget about it cause spot painting sticks out like a sore thumb. The light affects the paint and changes it's color so color matching won't work. Paint from the same can even three months later will not match completely either.
