I'm on a budget because the dollar is so weak compared to the euro. I'm also looking for a location where it's easy to get a job. Any info. would be great!!

  1. A few points....... London is expensive, although the Dollar is currently getting stronger against the Pound (£). Some areas are cheaper than others for accommodation. Getting a job will not be easy. Unskilled jobs do not pay well. Two websites for helpful information: http://www.gumtree.com/  .  http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/working...

  2. You will need to be very rich to live in London, it is probably the most expensive city there is. The areas that those above have mentioned are not realistic to live in on a budget, they are exceptionally expensive. You will have to live in a low rent area, they are horrible places with crime everywhere and with teenage knife gangs roaming the streets. There is Clapham, Streatham, Croydon, Silvertown, Canning Town, Deptford, Manor Park and Ilford.

  3. well 1st Britain uses Sterling (pounds) not euros

surely if your coming over from the U.S to study in london then the colledge/university must have rooms to offer to you ?

  4. England don't use the Euro they use Pounds Sterling.

Kingston upon Thames, Putney and Wimbledon are all really nice areas. My sister has lived in all three. They're all quite residential with plenty of little shops around. You wont have a problem finding a job there at the moment though and the transport system is amazing so no matter where you live you can get around easily.

Good luck with the move, it's an amazing city I'm in love with the place.

  5. West Hampstead is worth a thought.
