I'm moving to Mackay QLD, what are some really nice suburbs?

We have 2 young kids (Under 5) and we are moving from Newman, WA to Mackay, QLD in about 8 months. I would just like to what suburbs are nice?

Suburbs we are thinking of are:

Black's Beach

and

Shoal point.

But are there nicer places?

I live in a town inland from Mackay and I know people in my area always rave about it. I personally have been there about six times and it is an attractive coastal city. Not having lived there I can't say what surburbs are the best, so have a look at the following website it may give you some ideas:

...Well... i wud say... whole Mackay is beautiful in itself...

If being specific... Yes.. Black Beach and Shoal point are few of gud ones. Other nice suburbs are... Slade Point, Eimeo, and Dolphin Heads.

Make sure all your dental needs are up to date before moving to Mackay, because its very hard to get to see a dentist. Also stay healthy while you are there, as it is impossible to get into a medical clinic to see a doctor and the only one available is the private hospital there and they charge $70 a visit. You did have the public hospital if you don't mind sitting up there nearly all day.
