Im 18, and plan on going to college in Mexico. Any help would be highly appriciated.

  1. You will need an FM3 card to legally work in Mexico. The employer must write a letter and furnish proof that he has searched for a mexican but unable to find one .

The FM3 card is next to impossible to get even if you find an employer willing to sponsor you. Unemployment in Mexico is one of the worst in the world !

Expect to make about 10 US dollars a day. Hard to live on .............

Language skills are really not that important in your qualifications as unemployed SMART mexicans learn english themselves to better their chances of employment.

Good luck on your college but dont expect much sucess on employment down here.

  2. Your best bet for a job is to get a job as a teacher. You could teach private classes, business students, and also work in a language school. Don't worry, you can work under the table and get paid in cash. There is a huge demand for language services in Mexico. You could also get work doing translations as well.

You will need to take a certificate program in Mexico to be certified as an English teacher. There are also some programs to be qualified to teach Spanish to foreigners as well as French.

If you are going to go to school in Mexico DF there are lots of jobs for foreign language speakers.

  3. well since you are 18 i don´t think you are looking for a permanent job in Mexico, I remember that young folks like you often find temporary jobs at hotels as recreational host or in PR for some nightclubs in beach resorts, but you will be working illegally. Trilingual people is a big commodity in touristic towns, not a lot of people has that skill and is very appreciated by employers, since most of the foreign tourism comes from Canada and the USA.
