What I mean is, can I just get another one or am I going to have to take all the tests? I went to the website saying how to get a drivers license, but I don't know if they mean if it's your first license ever or that's what you have to do to get a NC license period.

  1. The first thing you want to do is turn around and go back. This is by far the most backward state Ive ever had the ,should I say pleasure to be in.I worked as abeer salesman in beaver falls pa. I thought id seen every type of persona possible until I moved here, most of these people are the second generation to have shoes.By far the most ignorant and trifling type Ive ever seen.My hopes are that you will be placed in the Raleigh or Ashville areas If not ,welcome to a twlight zoneof southern ignorance

  2. It depends on how old you are. If you are under 18, forget about it, it's very tough to prove drivers ed and what not. If over 18, you go down to the DMV with proof of insurance on your card (with your name on it), social security card, proof of residence (like a bill), and your old license. Good luck.

  3. When you get there, visit the DMV, show them your old license from out of State and they will issue you a new one, comparable to your old one (class and endorsement wise) and you will be good to go.  They may take your old one in exchange, or should at least.

  4. I don't live in NC,but I live in PA..It goes for any state you live in.

You do not need to relicense yourself, instead,You need to go to NC DMV and  transfer your license. You will have to surrender your current drivers license, license plate and update your address so you are legal

Check on this link to see what other necessary requirments are needed

  5. If NC is going to be your permanent residence, then you simply have to go to the DMV and they will get you a NC licence. No test required.
