  1. It's right on the border of Victoria and NSW. It's in the country and very quiet.

There are lots of nice historic towns nearby and lovely scenery, but you need to take an express train to get to the city.

  2. I have a friend who lives in Wodonga.

That's the Victorian side of the Murray River, which is the state border.

Albury is on the New South Wales side of the Murray.

She and her family like living there.

She often drives to Melbourne for shopping and lunch and then drives back in the afternoon.

It's a big country town really and a nice place to live.

  3. - Albury Wodonga is located approx 5 hrs drive from Melbourne city (in the border of New south wales and Victoria state)

    - Albury is part of New South Wales state (therefore follows New south wales school and public holidays)

    - Wodonga is part of the state of Victoria (therefore follows Victoria school and public holidays)

-The population of wodonga is approx 170,000 while Albury is approx 43,000 but the cities are right side by side

    - It's a small town (but bigger than the average rural town in Australia).

    - There is also a university - La Trobe University

    - The weather during summer is dry (not humid at all) with warm wind gust, the winter is crisp and the spring is lovely (with the flowers and leaves coming out)

    - There's an airport Albury Airport, it's a regional airports so small planes that go to major Australian cities such as Melbourne/Sydney.

    - They have shops, department stores, food chains and the usual things for your day to day shopping as well as cinemas and sporting centre

    - There is a large pet food manufacturing company called Uncle Ben's (accounting for more than half of processed pet food sales in Australia) as well as other manufacturing such as Wodonga meat as well as clothing such as Kimberly-Clark.

    - Wodonga is close to the wine region of Victoria called rutherglen and the surroundings (famous for its dessert wine and the heavy red wine such as shiraz).

    - Other than the vineyards, Albury wodonga is close to the Victorian Alps where you can ski during winter as well as Snowy Mountains region.

If you like a country lifestyle but still have a bit of the 'city' like, then you'll enjoy living here. Melbourne city is just 5 hrs drive away and you can catch a train as well (there's a direct train to Melbourne city).

    Hope this helps :)
