  1. I heard from some one who moved from US to spain and they said they paid under 2 grand.  It's worth looking into because Ireland is sooo expensive for everything.  When I move back I plan to bring my stuff too, A tempur-pedic matress over there... I can't imagine how much, bloody expensive though!!

  2. It depends on the ship, company etc.

    Generally, It's not too dear.

    Good Luck. = )

  3. It is NEVER cost effective to hang on to your stuff and ship it... ESPECIALLY internationally... I never move my stuff within a country, let alone take it with me overseas.

Just have a big moving sale and then buy new when you get there... it's a whole lot easier to take the money with you and replace everything

  4. I would think it would be very expensive to ship large items like that.

I was going to ship a computer battery and charger from New Jersey to Dublin, Ireland.....it would have cost me $100 just to ship that...not including duty, taxes, etc...

I would look around on the internet and try to get some estimates....just to get an average price range.  Ireland is expensive so if you can get a really good deal you might as well ship it over, otherwise sell it in the U.S and start fresh.

  5. I guess you are not getting your move paid for?  depends on your concept of "reasonable", but if you fill up one of those big wood crates that moving cos. use, for sure it will be in thousands.  If they are not antiques, or you're not really sentimentally attached to them, or you aren't totally loaded....yard sale time!
