Not for the academic part but I switched schools my freshman year and have been pretty shy since. How do I break out of the that, I want to actually FEEL confident. By the way I'm going into my junior year now in high school.

  1. I feel like by junior year people are less clique-y and are actually nice and more mature. Just strike up friendships with people in your class. You have plenty of time to talk to them.

Whenever I need some confidence, I get my hair cut or I go buy some new, pretty clothes.

If you can find one person to really click with, then you're set. They're always the person who's there for you. I feel like that's all you really need :]

  2. iv been there i might tranfering this year to a school where i dont know anyone and im real nervous my interview it today

    sooo i hope it goes well 4 u  ^_^

  3. try joining a sport or a club it helps you meet new people.

Or you can try to get a neww hair cut or color to make you feel good about yourself.

  4. get to knoe atleast one person really really well before school starts and then when u go into school you will have her AND her friends tht she will introduce u too

  5. me too, just talk to ppl.u will feel better talking to ppl than just sitting there

  6. Don't worry so much about it. Switching schools can be tough no matter what grade it is. To put it in perspective, I was scared out of my mind the first day of high school. It was probably the most nerve-racking moment of my life, the morning that school started. This was despite the fact I had friends going to school with me. It's natural to feel awkward and out of place so just take a breather, gather your thoughts and make yourself believe that school is what you make of it. Channel nothing but positive energy and any bad vibes you get from people just let them be. Don't be afraid to talk to people and if large groups of people make you nervous find someone who is by themselves. If you live a life based upon fear, you will never branch out. Take logical risks. Join clubs or organizations. Spark a conversation with someone in class over something simple like sports or the class itself. As the fall goes on, you will feel more comfortable and have new friends to boost. Just be yourself no matter how cheesy it sounds and don't try to just fit in. If you really feel like a change is in order, try a new style or look but do so gradually so you won't be viewed as a poser. I was kinda a geek when H.S started but I lost weight, found my fashion style and stayed true to my friends and beliefs. Do those simple things and you will be fine. Take care.

  7. i was a transfer my sophmore year and I know how it feels to be with those that have already built friendships...all u have to do is become part of something that intrigues you and interests you...try being more outspoken in the classroom enviroment by answering or asking questions that is where alot of friendships are made in highschool..trust me once voice yourself it just happens naturally and confidence builds up without you even noticing it

    i hope that helps..

  8. If you're into sports and/or athletic you try-out or manage a fall sport since try-outs are even before school starts.  This helped me a lot! I was very shy before entering school and I had never played volleyball before, but decided to try it and before school even started I had now made 8 new friends which soon led to many more! You're team won't be mean to you since they are you're team and will welcome you with open arms!!!

  9. GET A NEW STYLE:)

  10. Just be yourself and start join clubs and sport so you can get to know other people, and maybe if your lucky you might find someone with the same problem as your having and you can become friends with that person. =)
