it depends what you're looking for in your music player

ipods are best for memory - you can store up to 20,000 songs on an 80GB ipod

other mp3s often don't have as much memory

if you don't need that much memory, there isn't that much of an advantage to an ipod, in fact they're more expensive

try reading the reviews on several products on sites like amazon and decide from there

you can get classical, or any kind of music you like on any music player

also not all can play videos etc, but there are more that do this than just the ipod

you can get classical music on ANY mp3 player but for most you'll need to buy the CD then create the MP3 file yourself and drag it onto the player.

The walkman and iPod have both stores linked to their managers (sonic Stage for Walkman and itunes for ipod).  personally Itunes has the better range of music plus it can also have high quality unrestricted music at 225kbps (verses 128kbps) on itunes plus where other sites only sell the DRM restricted 129 or 160kbps music)

You can get classical music on like, everything. Also, I have an Ipod, not an MP3, but I think Ipod is better because you can get movies, T.V. shows, games, audiobooks, and songs, even though I'm not that sure what MP3 can do.

All Ipod's and MP3's are good and do pretty much the same, most are very simple to use. Most people will recommend Ipod's and it's what I personally choose. An Ipod would be good for you I think as the person above said you can buy any songs, videos, films, tv programs, audio books on Itunes for your Ipod. And yes you can get classical music
