Question:

I'm new to bmx. Was my bike choice bad?

I have the haro-f4 when I could have gotten a Mongoose Freestyle Crush or a cheaper haro that was meant for "all-around-styles" or whatever. I thought the better bike would be beneficial for some weird reason but I know a lot of people who get cheaper bikes to start with. I also want to dirt-jump so could I just change the wheels on my haro or would that be too complicated for every time I wanna go. And . . if I go out to practice some beginner moves would people stare at me weird or something o.O ..'specially with my new bike and all..?

  1. flip 'em off.... at least you're riding!

  2. should of gotten the mongoose

  3. Not to sound mean, but the people that answered before me don't know what they are talking about. The bike you got was an exeptionally good choice. I'm not a fan of Haros, but it is a very good entry level bmx bike.

It will take plenty of abuse, and the componets are stong enough, and why would you change out the wheels, there is no point, they are a good double wall set.

The only problem is, you are going to have to eventually replace everything on it if you are really serious about getting into bmx. It doesn't have an intergrated headset, and the parts are heavy.

And no, no one is going to look at you weird, because you are just riding it doesnt matter. they would only look at you wierd if you had a hella good bike (ex. $800 or more custom) and you sucked. haha.

so go out there and ripp it up. =)

  4. personally i think u should have started with a cheaper haro and moved onto a more expensive one but since u have just started bmxing this bike will last u quite a long time cause it was made for a bit more abuse, For  dirt jumping, u might want to get a different bike since the frame is not really made for dirt jumping abuse. Yeah people will stare at u but just be humble.
