I'm new to this, what do I display on 2 open shelves between my cabinets above my kitchen sink?

I know you can display plates or other things, what would look good? Any web sites for ideas?

some cook books- either laying down and some standing with smaller items as bookends like a mixer or something.

potted plant or fake plants

pretty plates on a plate stand and any other pretty china like serving platters and tea cups

glass vases

baskets

large ceramic nick-naks like a rooster or something

What you display are things that you enjoy looking at -- things that bring a smile to your face when you see them -- things that reflect your interests -- but preferably not too many things at the same time.

I change my kitchen decorations with the seasons, sometimes with stuff from craft shows; sometimes with stuff I make or find at yard sales.
