  1. Join the winning volleyball skills (winningvolleyballskills.com) newsletter as they send out weekly tips and drills for all kinds of volleyball skills and plays including setting. This is a free service by the way.

You could also check out volleyballlockerroom.com as they have a free 7 day trial of their site with some pretty awesome setting drills.

Hope this helps and good luck

  2. when you set keep ur arms up and use ur spreaded fingertips make sure the set is high enough so if it's bad the bumper can try to get under it (volleyball for 3 years)

  3. If your going out for setter your going to want to do this dril

Set the ball a few inches above your head. Then slowly lower yourself down until you get to your back setting the whole time. Then when you are completely lying down repeat the same process but standing up. I am a libero on my highschool team and that is the drill i see the setters doing the most. Also try setting and having it hit the ground in specific places because placement is key in setting.

  4. For workouts go to www.bodybuilding.com

  5. set up a net. (in my case just got a string and ran it from my garage to my house because they are parallel.) Or a stick and a string to use as a net. Then get a friend to gently underhand serve it. try and set it right in front of the net when it comes to your side. since there is a lot of space to cover this helps with you getting to the ball and setting it right in front of the net.

If you want things that you can do alone try setting to a specific spot for aim, push ups to help your arm, and setting it stationary.

Also make sure you can differentiate in power of you sets so you can have different types of spikes. that is if you are trying to set for the spiker.

    AND REAL GAMES HELP!

  6. well with a friend try bumping and setting oh also seving im trying out next year too! 0oh you can also go to camps they help ALOT! you can also do alot of running push up to help your arms get better and if possibe try running up and down ur stairs about 15 times a day.

  7. make sure that your wrists are strongg! its easy to hurt your wrists when setting so do push ups on your finger tips (hurts at first youll get used to it)  also, you can get a "setter ball" which is heavier so it builds up the muscles in your arms, hands, wrists hope this helps!

  8. Go to a camp at your local college/university...

  9. If you want to do a setter drill by yourself then id lay on the floor and put your hands in a diamond shape and just keep setting the ball.

it sounds stupid, but it really helps so you wont be afraid of the ball hitting your face.

  10. in volley ball you need to hit and hit intell the ball goes on the ground........

  11. set the ball agianst the wall over and over agian in the same spot

  12. do alot of running. you will also need to do alot of push ups to build up you arm strength and also the weight room might help.

  13. I was a setter in high school. I used to lay on my back on my bed and set the ball straight up over and over. Also, lots of wind sprints on the court. The setter has to be the best conditioned player on the team.
