  1. Usually, you'll get charged a fee and the person you're supposed to be paying gets charged a fee. Some banks will attempt to redeposit the check and if it bounces again, you'll both get charged again. Every bank is different. Try your very best to log every transaction so that you can be sure of your true account balance and to avoid unnecessary difficulty.

  2. The bank will send it back to you.

Your bank will charge you a fee.

Reciever of checkwill be charged a fee.

You will have to make the check "good"

    and pay all the fees.

  3. If you purposely wrote a check for more money than you had in your account, you could be charged with fraud.  It sounds like $1100 might just be enough for whoever the payee was to pursue criminal action.

You need to make good on that check right away.

  4. It depends where you live and what bank you have an account with :

In the UK you would be looking at a 10 to 35 £ unpaid fee. that is only if the funds are not in the account : anything else e.g cheque not signed the you should not be charged, but then again banks these days are pain in the a s e s .!

  5. You will get charged an overdraft fee from your bank.  If you wrote the check to certain businesses they will charge you a "bounced check" fee on their end.  So basically you could be out about $60 or $70.

  6. If it bounceds, unfortunatly your bank will charge you anything like £35, PLUS, the person you sent the cheque to, will also still want paying, as they've not recieved it.

It is against the law to send a cheque if you KNOW it'll bounce.  How will they know that you know ????
