  1. You may just be sick with the flu?

I don't know, but don't worry, you'll feel better once you go to the hospital. They'll give you special medication, and you'll feel yourself again by next week.

Don't freak out about the IV either. It's just a needle that'll go into your arm. It's not so bad, but it does feel like a slight pinch when they put it in. You'll feel so much better once the liquids are used up, though. =]

  2. Uhm, i don't know what it is?

    It's probably just the flu.

  3. It sounds like a virus.  But even if it lasts through Thursday, I don't think that would be a reason to put you in the hospital and give you an IV unless you're very dehydrated.  If you can keep fluids down, I think an IV is unlikely.  I'm not a doctor, but my guess is that if you're still sick tomorrow they would do some tests to try to narrow down just what it is.  Typical tests might involve drawing a small amount of blood, a throat culture and/or maybe a urine sample. These are all done in the doctor's office. Then you'd go home and wait for the results. Based on what you wrote, I wouldn't worry about going to the hospital just yet.

  4. It probably is just a virus that's just taking a little longer for your body to get rid of than you'd expect. If your fever is gone, I doubt that they'll take you to the hospital, since that means you're getting better... Unless you didn't mention some other stuff, I'm not sure why they'd take you to the hospital at all, because to me it doesn't sound too serious... I could be wrong, but that's what I think.

Make sure to rest a lot (which I'm sure you're already doing if you don't feel well), drink A LOT so that whatever your body is fighting can get flushed out (and it'll keep the fever away, too), eat soup if you can, try to get someone to get you something to help, like Emergen-C (which, if you don't know, is a flavored powder that you pour into water, that has a bunch of vitamin C and other good stuff). This is the site for it, so you can look at the flavors and find a store that carries it near you:

    http://www.emergenc.com/

At first, you want to be careful with how much of the vitamin C you drink, because you won't know how much your body can take in a day. If you drink too much, you'll get diarrhea, but it won't do you any harm and won't last long. You want to drink just under that amount, so drinking a couple of glasses a day shouldn't be too much. The vitamin C will help your immune system fight off the virus :)

I would try to do something you like (well, whatever you can while you're resting), because being happy will boost your immune system too.

Take care of yourself and the virus should disappear faster :)

And if they do take you to the hospital and put you on an IV, just try to stay calm. Trust me, it hurts more when you panic because you tense up and concentrate on what you're worrying about. Just concentrate on how in about a minute, it'll be over. It shouldn't hurt for more than a few seconds, while they're putting it in. Take a deep breath, don't look at them putting it in, and try to stay calm. It'll be fine.
