So i'm currently a junior in college and i'm not happy with my major. i'm currently a spanish secondary education major. i know spanish fluent so i figured this is a great way to just become a teacher and make good money. now i'm starting to realized that teaching really isn't for me. i love to be outdoors and travel and i love history. i was thinking about being a history major but my parents are pushing me to be a teacher but i honestly can't see myself doing it. i'm so stressed out cause i'm paying so much money for school and have so many loans and i feel like i've come so far that if i change my major now it feels like it would be a waste of my time. PLEASE HELP! i'm stressing out to the max.

  1. I don't think you wasted so much time. You say you're in your third year right? Well, the first two years are just general education courses with a few classes toward you major here and there! If I were you I would sign up for a job shadow position and really think about what it is you REALLY want to do! Is it possible for you to become a history teacher? Whatever it is, get out of your spanish major now before you waste anymore time or money in something you're not sure of because now you're getting into the training that you'll be using for the remainder of your career. Also, I believe most universities/ community colleges have internship explorations so you might want to check that out too. Good Luck ;)
