How did civilisation come to be? To be more precise, the knowledge we have today is basically that the Egyptians began "history" by inventing writing 3000 yrs BC.....

Did the Celts start to colonise Europe at that time? And before that you had different levels of cavemen?

I know this must be academic butchery the way I put it...but I want to get an idea of how we went from early caveman to civilised man.....

There are many schools of thought, you have to find something that makes sense to you.

Celtic mythology is difficult to grasp but well worth the effort

  4. There wasn't much, if anything, going on in Europe in 3000 bc.

  5. Well, there is a lot more than civilization than that. A quick overview is: The first human remains have been found in Africa. Now everybody wants to say that we all migrated from Africa. The thing of it is, this is only what science knows NOW and is still questionable. Then we don't know what kind of creatures they were. Apparently didn't have much social structure. They were hunter\gathers and lived in groups for the benefit of all. When the cleared out one area of food, they migrated to another area. Some moved into the Fertile Crescent area. Others went all over Europe. So far, nothing has been found to prove any true social structure in Europe. But the fertile crescent area (the middle east) around the Mediterranean Sea area developed a social Structure. There they became more than Hunter\ Gathers, they figured out farming. Some of the earliest grains are found in ancient storehouses found on ancient sites. This was a long time before the Rise of Egypt. This is not to say that all became farmers. Some remained "Nomads". But the first social structure was developed around the Fertile Crescent. This is not to say that something new won't be uncovered tomorrow.

You can learn more by checking out Ancient Sumer or Migration of man through DNA. Nother thing, watch some PBS.
