I'm not receiving any parcels through royal mail but normal mail is delivered ok.?

I live in the top floor flat of a converted house and short of accusing the downstairs tenants of stealing the parcels I'm in despair as what to do. Anyone got any theories where the parcels could be ending up or any ways to find out? Thanks

  1. Postie Answering:

If the Postie is leaving your parcels with your neighbours they should be leaving a card with your normal mail to inform you that they have done so.

    Advice:

    1.  Get something sent to you by special/tracked delivery and see who is signing for it  (don't use recorded as this is not tracked until it is delivered).

    2.  You could contact your local delivery office and ask them to make sure no mail is left with the neighbours.  This has the drawback of that if you are not in you will have to go to the Callers Office to collect them

    3.  Again contact the Delivery Office manager and explain what is happening.  You may then be able to arrange a Call & Collect service for all packets or all mail.  My Manager does this in similar circumstances.

    4.  Might also be worth speaking to your regular postie and see if he can shed any light on what's happening.  It might also be worth mentioning to them where the best place is  to leave parcels when your not in.

Hope this helps if not add more to the question and I'll keep a beady eye for it.

  2. In addition to Hughie T's answer, I'd add that its possible that your parcels may be held back at your delivery office until a time that the Deliveries manager feels he has enough staff to deliver oversized items. This has occurred at my local delivery office, where large parcels which would usually be delivered each day by van after the normal letter mail were held back for two days due to severe staff shortages.

If you have been waiting for a few days for some parcels, then this is a possible answer, and as Hughie T says, contact your local delivery office. If you have been waiting for more than a week, then something is definitely wrong.
