  1. Shrug....I thought you were one already TBH.

Talk and act like one....my bad.

Edit: went back and looked just saw your response to "should the man be in charge of the relationship" your right your not...sorry.  I honestly thought you were for equality. my bad.

  2. Believe that women should have more rights than men.

  3. Eleanor is right, to some extent. I believe in equal rights but I am not a feminist. The term now carries entirely too much baggage and has been corrupted like any main-stream religion.

One can be for equality and not self-identify as feminist. I am hesistant to accept any label because of the dogma and rules associated, it just another form of control.

  4. If you believe in gender equality the last thing you want to do is join a movement with a clear track record of sexism e.g.

"All men are rapists and that's all they are" - Marilyn French, 'The Women's Room'

"We are, as a s*x, infinitely superior to men." - Elizabeth Cady Stanton, in 'One Woman, One Voice'

"Men are the enemies of women" – Professor Ann Oakley (1984) in 'Taking It Like a Woman'.

"I believe that women are the more spiritually advanced s*x" Erica Jong, Washington Post, December 6, 1992

"God knows how many women already have no use for their men, who are all too often idle and incompetent both as wage-earners and around the house, uninterested in the children and hopeless in bed…" - Germaine Greer, 2001.

  5. Which guy have you called sexist?  If your answer is all of them, you're already there.

  6. Eleanor B got part of it.  Another question to ask yourself would be, "Do you believe men and women are equal and should be treated as such?"

Social equality is at least as important as legal equality.

  7. Step 1 --> burn bras

    I kid, I kid :P

  8. Well, Hala all you need to do is

    vote

    drive a car

    get a job

have a bank account in your name

    wear pants (jeans, slacks etc.)

Go to the store by yourself

That technically makes you a feminist whether you like it or not. Feminism got all those things for women.

Feminists right now are fighting for the Equal Rights Amendment which is a constitutional amendment to allow g*y people to get married if they wish (you get rights spouses are only allowed when you are married) and make it illegal to pay women less money for the EXACT same job with EXACT same experience simply because she does not have a p***s.

So, my experience is, women who are not churning butter in a Grey dress without a voting privilege are feminists. AAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  NOOOOOOO!!

  9. You'd have to change your whole belief system... I don't think there's any way to consciously do that. Life experiences define our beliefs. :)

  10. Uh, feminists are people who accept that women are human beings.

If you think that, then you are a feminist; if you reject that notion, your are not.

So, are women human, or some lesser species? That determines whether or not you're a feminist.

  11. Go to your nearest Dairy Queen. Tell the cashier you want a wheatgrass Blizzard. She'll nod her head in the direction of the walk-in freezer. You'll go inside and follow the instructions on the console.

Actually, you'll start believing in gender equality and applying that belief to your daily life.

  12. Easy, it's a one question test...

Do you believe men and women should have equal rights?

If you answered yes, you are a feminist, well done.

If you answered no, well at least you're honest... :-)

  13. Just start to hate men. Everything else will follow.

  14. Just start calling yourself one.

There are so many different forms that you have to fit into one of them - otherwise you can just make up your own.
