  1. Well it is very clear that you obviously should not take it.

The only reason you are even thinking about it is because a guinea pig suddenly became easily accessible. If that person never offered you one, it would never even come to your mind, I'll bet.

Pet ownership is a serious responsability! It is not something you decide to do over night. Guinea pigs are no exception. With any new animal, you must spend a whole lot of time researching about caring for them, finding a good vet, and saving up a couple hundreds for their supplies, annual costs and emergancy vet care. With guinea pigs, the commitment will last up to 8 years. They need an hour of daily handling, daily feeding and water changes, regular fresh veggies, and weekly cleaning. Guniea pigs also cannot live alone so you need two.

If you want a pet, you need to be a lot more prepared. If you have any doubt at all, you are not at all ready. After you spend a few months researching, you should feel 200% ready without a slight amount of doubt. Then you will be ready.

So do not take this one, but if you are interested in guinea pigs, spend more time learning about them. You will not regret it 3 months later because this is not the only guinea pig you will be able to have. You can ALWAYS adopt a pair from a shelter, or buy them from a breeder.

  2. Yes they do smell they smell even worse if you don't clean their cage. If you're not sure if you want one wait until you're sure then get one.

  3. if you have a idea of being a father or already are one{srry not tryin to but in} you cud get it to help you grow maturaley and become responsible,or if you dont want it think of the bright side,if they dont find a home for it,it gets to stay with its parents.....& if you do get it,DONT I REAPEAT DONT GET A WIRE WHEEL unless you want a three legged guinea pig......ARG!!!!! lol!!!

  4. If you have no interest in Guinea Pigs then don't get the Guinea Pig. They require a lot of care and if your heart isn't in it then you are likely to not give the Guinea Pig the care he needs. Not only will you need to take responsibility for the care of the cage and ensuring your pet has the food he needs, but you will always need to give him the physical attention he needs and if your heart isn't in it you just might find yourself not giving him the time he needs.

Of course I'm sure your intentions would be good, but it's difficult to give something your time and attention if your heart isn't in it.

I would keep researching pets that will meet your interest. =)

  5. If you keep the cage clean then they don't smell.  But if you don't clean the cage, for like a week, then yes, it starts to smell.  g****a pigs are great pets!  I have 2 and LOVE them!!  Definitely get one!!

  6. Wait a while and search guinea pigs online and you'll see how fun they can be!

  7. guinea pigs are great as long as u give them a  big cage and clean them at least once a week. then they dont smell at all. they are awesome, easy to take care of, fun to play wiht, and all the good stuff. they could get a little annoying when u get home after u were gone a long time. they keep squeaking, but it's really cute. definitely go for it and get one. and if u dont get one and dont kick yourself....i definitely will!! ;D

  8. ' I dont mind them but i dont want them.'  I think that answers your question dont you?

    (:

  9. If you are not sure if you want one, wait a bit and think about it.

Are you sure you are ready to take on the responsibility of owning your own animal?

If you really do want one, I would not recommend a guniea pig. Get something eaiser to take care of like a mouse or a hamster. They are much more fun then guniea pigs and are much less work!

Yes they do smell, if you don't clean the cage that is!

    good luck.

  10. yes guinea pigs smell a LOT. im not sure you want a guinea pig. you should be absolutely sure that you want a pet before you get it

  11. Thet DO NOT:

    - smell (they themselves do not have a scent, their poo and pee, bedding, other things 4 them do have smells. If you keep their cage clean, their won't be any bad-scent problems!)

    - bite

    - pee on u wen their older

    They DO:

    - love (they are very affectionate, will purr and l**k...)

    - cuddle

    - make perfect pets

    - are clean

    - are social

    - are nice

I always wanted a pet, my first 1 was a guinea pig, I wanted whatever I could get, I love animals. But, they were SO much better then I thought. It's now 1 year later and they changed my life (in a very good way). I'm a devoted pet owner.
