  1. 3, 5, 7, 9, etc. is all good. You can even say dua while prostrating.

  2. I think the Prophet (sa) taught to say it at Least 3 times.  So if you say it more, then all the better.

But even that aside, why would it be a bad thing to praise Allah more? :)

After all, worship of Allah is why we were created!

love for all, hatred for none

  3. The importance of the salaah is: khushoo'

the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Five prayers which Allaah has made obligatory. Whoever does wudoo’ properly for them, prays them on time, does rukoo’ properly and has perfect khushoo’, it is a promise from Allaah that he will be forgiven, but whoever does not do this, has no such promise – if Allaah wishes, He will forgive him, and if He wishes, He will punish him.” (Reported by Abu Dawood, no. 425; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 3242).

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) explained the things that help us to have khushoo’:

“Two things help us to [develop khushoo’]: a strong desire to do what is obligatory, and weakness of distractions.

With regard to the first, the strong desire to do what is obligatory:

[this means that] a person strives hard to focus on what he is saying and doing, pondering on the meanings of the Qur’an recitation, dhikr and du’aa’s, and keeping in mind the fact that he is speaking to Allaah as if he sees Him, for when he is standing in prayer, he is talking to his Lord.

Ihsaan means ‘that you worship Allaah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, He can see you.’ The more the slave tastes the sweetness of salaah, the more attracted he will be to it, and this has to do with the strength of his eemaan.

The means of strengthening eemaan are many, and this is why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, ‘In your world, women and perfume have been made dear to me, and my joy is in prayer.’ According to another hadeeth, he said, ‘Let us find comfort in prayer, O Bilaal’ – he did not say, ‘Let us get it over and done with.’

With regard to the second, weakness of distractions:

This means striving to push away all distractions that make you think of something other than the prayer itself, and warding off thoughts that keep you mind off the purpose of the prayer. This is something which differs from one person to another, because the extent of waswaas has to do with the extent of one’s doubts and desires and the heart’s focus and dependence on what it loves, and its efforts to avoid what it dislikes.” (Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 22/606-607)

Undoubtly, if you aren't sure about how many times you said something, you have neglected this feeling of comfort, calm and peace in (this part of) your Salaah.

But insha Allaah this doesn't make your salaah unvalid by Allaah, you only have to explain why you did it without khushoo'. You will get rewarded insha Allaah for every part of the salaah, which will have khushoo':

the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “A slave may pray and have nothing recorded for it except a tenth of it, or a ninth, or an eighth, or a seventh, or a sixth, or a fifth, or a quarter, or a third, or a half.” (Reported by Imaam Ahmad; Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1626).

So insha Allaah don't burden yourself with something which isn't prescribed in the shareeah and let it rest. Although try to find out what has distracted you and try to fight agianst it  or remove it in your next salaah.

    Salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatu Allaah

  4. I usually say it 5 times so that I stay in sajdah for a longer time because I don't want to rush. It';s a sunnah not a fardh or a waajibat your all good

Ask a scholar in case don't take my word for it. Allah will accept your salaah insha Allah

Sunnah is three times...I found out it's ok to say it 5 times

  5. I don't think it is necessary. The only case I've heard that matters is when you are not sure how many rak'as have you prayed in which case you should go for the least and pray one more. Then you do two prostrations before or after ending the prayer:

  6. Yes you do, or it's h**l for you!

  7. no that's no problem and you don't have to pray once more either.you can say how many times you want and whichever dua you want. cuz that time you're closest to Allah.

  8. The importance is that you don't make anything anymore complicated. If you said it 4 times thats down to human error which Allah understands so you don't have to read your whole salah again because of that. Although it is said 3 times.
