So one of my classes is taking a field trip to a theme park on Friday. The park has 5 main roller coasters. I want to ride some, but I'm not sure if I should. I get motion sickness and I'm not sure if I can handle it or not seeing as I've never really riden a roller coaster before. I don't want to disappoint my friends who are in the class and I want to have a good time, but I don't know if I should do it or not. Any advice?

  1. the scariest part of the roller coaster is sitting in the roller coaster and waithing in line. once your on you dont want to get off

  2. Roller coasters are sooooooo fun so for me...I would definitely ride all 5 if I can in one day.

If I were you...I would consider what can happen if I ride one of those roller coasters....roller coasters do not cause motion sickness...at least I am not aware of it. So what you should do is at least give it a try to see if you like it. Try to have a good time....maybe you'll end up loving it!

  3. If they were your real friends they wouldn;t be disappointed if they understand and btw safety first!

  4. Maybe you can take motion sickness pills before you ride. Ride something smaller first so you can make sure you can handle it so you don't get sick on the rides.

  5. You should at least try them out.  Roller coasters will not hurt you (you know, as long as you don't have heart conditions and whatnot).  And even though you're scared, once you ride some and see how fun they are, you won't be so scared anymore.  I get motion sickness too but roller coasters rarely make me sick.  Everyone's different, but I say go for it, because once you start, then it will be a whole lot of fun for the rest of your life when you go to amusement parks.

  6. Roller coasters are really fun.If you really want to try 1 or 2 of the not so scary coasters take a motion sickness pill about an hour before you go.They work well and you can get them almost anywhere. However if you really don't want to try any of them don't be afraid to just say so.Have fun!

  7. Wow. If they were really your friends, they wouldn't bug you about going on roller coasters. Even though that line is said a lot, I know how that feels. Well, it all depends on the intensity of those roller coasters. If they are pretty extreme like tremendous drops and various inversions, I don't think those should be the first roller coasters you should ride. I've sorta gotten over the fear of most roller coasters, but there are some things that I do to minimize the chance of throwing up on roller coasters. Usually I close my eyes on unfamiliar coasters so you don't see everything around you spinning. Um, close your mouth if you want. Just try to keep body control when the ride is in motion ( easier said that done ).

Well that's all that I can think of, but if you decide not to ride them, just firmly tell your friends "no". Peer pressure is a hard thing to handle, but learn to control your actions. If you decide to ride them, the only thing that freaks me out is the drop, but if you think about it, once the drop is over, the fun starts for me.

  8. Do what I do : take a no-drowsy formula motion sickness medicine before you go to the park; don't eat a lot before you ride and don't go on the coasters right after each other.

I can ride almost every ride except things that spin (like the swings & spider-type rides).

    Go & have fun!

    :o)

  9. try one see how you feel but dont go on anything too fast at first

    have fun =)
