Question:

I'm not sure if the Thai Pocky I bought is okay to eat...?

I bought a box of Thai Pocky, but I'm not sure if it's okay to eat or not. There are two dates printed on the bottom, and one says "26.07.07", while the other says "26.07.08". I'm not sure which is the best before date, or which numbers are the years (I know that with Japanese best before dates, the year is the first number shown, so I think it's safest not to just assume that it's the last number). Can anyone please tell what these numbers mean, and if the Pocky is still fresh?

  1. I would call the company and ask.  They usually like to talk to customers and definitely want you to continue consuming their product, so just give them a call.  There is usually an 800 number on the box that will allow you to contact their customer service line.

    Good luck!

  2. haha.. what an interesting question

don't worry.. you can always take a tiny bite and see if its fresh or not. and yea i think its the packaging date and use by date anyway. usually i would think about where i got the food from and think back if the shop is dirty or old or bad then i can kinda assume if the food is safe or not. but in your case im sure it should be safe cos it's just pocky. next time buy japanese pocky. worry less

  3. Its fine.. really..

It might have been packed last year, in 2007.. and the use by date is 2008..

    It makes sense doesnt it?
