  1. Abnormal psychology will go through all the different types of psychopathology according to the DSM IV...the diagnostic manual used by psychologists and psychiatrists.  For e.g. anxiety disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia, addictions, etc.  Not too much on TV is real.....I wouldn't compare abnormal psych to cold case.....(college psych professor)

  2. Abnormal Psych is the study of psychological disorders, like bi-polar, depression, schizophrenia and on and on.

Forensic Psychology, on the other hand, is the study of laws concerning psychological disorders and psychological evidence. (Haven't really watched Cold case, but I assume it's something like Law and Order.)

  3. The new term they use is Maladaptive Behavior. It's too difficult to say what is normal or abnormal.

  4. Abnormal psychology is the study of 'abnormal' thoughts and behavior. The aim is to  interpret, describe, predict, explain, and possibly even change these ways of functioning.

Its really a form of Clinical Psychology, so no, it is not like cold case.

  5. doing everything abnormally is called !?
