hi, i've been given an assignment due in a week.

the assignment says, "Write a two-page analysis that answers the question: Who or what is responsible

for shaping the fate of one of the characters?"

an analysis is just an essay, correct?

well I'm not sure if by saying "fate" they mean death. could the person the essay is about still be alive?

the movie is "The Day After Tomorrow"

any help would be very useful.

thankyou.

  1. Actually the fate mean reality, Surety and nature, as death is also a real one, it is a nature. Everyone have to die except God. Only One and true God is responsible for shaping the fate of any thing. The movie "Day after tomorrow" is only a drama not reality. It is created by human so it is not reliable. Only God's words, decisions and orders are true.

  2. depend's if the character survived or not - haven't seen the movie, sorry :) 'fate' would generally mean destined as in 'no chance but...' (quite a sad mechanical outlook really).

if they do survive, it could be refering a sense of a synchronicity of events and people interplaying each other stories. bit nicer.

  3. Who or what is responsible for making the events that happened to a character happen.

Who or what made the events of a character what they were.

ex. The vice president was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, due to his complacence, causing him not to evacuate the citizens of the North until it was too late for them.

  4. fate to me is the understanding of where you end up because of the alignment of stars and the placement of the moon and sun in conjunction with the education you gave yourself, the understanding that where you go you have decisions and though you think you are making those decisions you aren't because the fate of the situation is that the decision was made for you.

  5. An analysis is more than an essay.  It should show how you reason through a question or an argument.

There is more to someone's fate than just dying.  Your fate is, basically, where you end up.  Maybe jail.  Or at a Miss America pageant.  So you are being asked to write about the different forces that made one of the character's lives turn out the way it did.  These are generally things that are out of the character's control.

  6. watch the movie

    pick a character

see what happens to them at the end

write your analytical essay about said character and what happens to them and why, who is reponsible, what is responsible, whatevz. quite simple really.

  7. fate could mean death, but not necessarily...did you watch the movie? From the question, it sounds like you just need to watch the movie and then pick your own character and explain why whatever happened to him/her happened...I haven't seen the movie, so I can't really tell you any more than that.
