I imagine there will be ? Would it be rude to hand out tennis balls to them for their cricket matches ?

  1. I've travelled in India a lot and often saw kids playing cricket, it's a national sport out there, like football in the UK. It wouldn't be rude to hand out tennis balls but you would do more good bringing clothing or giving a few rupees.

  2. all i saw over there was hungry looking kids in rags following me around everywhere i went...what tour books are you reading man?...i went to jaipur, aggra ,fatepur sikri and delhi...i didnt see anyone playing cricket...

  3. You would be better off taking pens and pencils, and like has already been said be careful when handing them out. You may only see one or two children but as soon as you start giving presents fifty more will appear from nowhere, been there done that.

  4. i live in india - bombay. if ur hoping to see many children play cricket in the streets then ur dreams shattered because now the IPL is cumin up. if u go into the villages u might see tht scene or in the well... umm... slums in big cities.

and it will not be rude to hand out tennis balls but instead if u could hand out food or clothes, it would be better.

  5. Lucky thing!

Tennis balls?! lol No, it wouldn't be rude, but depending on where you are going it may not be advised either - if word gets out you are handing out free tennis balls, you'll get mobbed for them!

Have a good trip. You didn't say whereabouts you are going?
