  1. Love the name BTW!  Anyhew, since you're starting out, just get a brand from Wal-Mart or Target.  They'll last until you improve as a player and can invest in brand name equipment.

  2. Try MacGregors.  You can get a full set plus stand bag for less than $300.  Decent quality and should last awhile, mine did.

  3. If you're serious about learning to play, consider this. First, take a few lessons before you buy clubs. That way, you will have an idea of your swing speed, style, etc.  Then, find a good golf shop with a trained club tech to help you get fitted. Rather than buying a whole cheaper set, you really only need about 6 or seven clubs to get started. A 3 wood (use in lieu of a driver off the tee until you can hit it consistently, then move up to a driver.) a pitching wedge, and odd number irons 3, 5, 7, 9, and of course, a putter. These clubs will get you through very well until you reach a higher level. That way, you can buy better clubs and stay in the budget.  Also, when you start to learn, work from the green out learning to putt first, then pitch and chip, then fairway irons and finally the tee shot. You will use your putter for about half your strokes, so it makes sense to learn that well first. There are many things to consider when buying clubs; shaft length, steel or graphite, stiff or flex, traditional or hybrids, etc. so don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. good luck! peace

  4. you can get a good set of clubs for a great price if they are used, thats how i got mine

  5. best way try large flea market , newspaper ads . used sporting goods . store. buy quality used set for less than wal-mart clubs . better quality much cheaper price . in this case the only way to go . done it for centuries . good luck , golf can be cheap . got 4 sets in basement . have set of hogans for 60 dollars .  hogan edges ,

  6. A few friends of mine at work just started out golfing as well, and they just went to Wal-Mart and bought a complete set that has a driver, 3-wood, 5-wood, set of irons, putter, and a bag.  And total is should only cost you around 150

It might not be the most advanced clubs, but they will be very forgiving for a new golfer.  As you advance in skill you will be able to upgrade your clubs later on.
