I've been taking adderall for a few months. It has greatly improved my concentration from the beginning. I took one this morning and my head was clear all day, but now i can barely think straight and i feel slightly depressed. I'm struggling just to make this question make sense. This has never happened before, I am 17 and i only take 30 mg. Does anyone know if this is a side effect? Can someone tell me how to clear my head??

  1. adderall last only 8 hours maybe you need to talk to your dr and get him to prescribe you something to take around 4;00 to last you the rest of the day.

  2. Both my son and I take Adderall XR... he is 11, and takes 15 mg, and I am 42, and take 20 mg. It sounds like when it begins to wear off, you just want to continue to be clear and not so ADHD- like at night. Each day for the 8 to 12 hours ( or for some less, others more) .. you and others see such a change. It sucks it wears off each day and doesn't

have the build up factor like many meds do. Aderrall helps me with depression too. The point to this is that you  have to learn to manage this somehow, or get another med for the depression at night.  There would never be a time, I don't  think, that we could take the adderall at night too. It would make us sick in many ways... Your heart would palpitate in the bed as you attempted to rest. I know in the day, if  I try to sleep, it hurts me that way. But I also was a drug abuser in my earlier adult years..( I self-medicated...) So all people might not have the heart thing...but your brain would never be able to" not focus," !  I would never sleep on 2 - 12 hour pills . I'd read and write  all day and night.... Just know we all have the" downer feelin" when the pill wears off. It will get better, just tell your Dr. the truth about all of it...

    God Bless You,    Joni
