I'm on social security and am waiting on my economic stimulus payment. Can i go by the chart at irs or?

will i get mine later? everyone's telling me taxpayers get theirs first. Does anyone know?

  1. Probably. It is true that returns from those who filed solely to get their stimulus payments are being processed later, but by now most of them are being processed. If the date has already passed, the payment will go out about a week after it's been processed.


  2. It depends on when you filed, not on whether you paid tax or not.  If you efiled on 4/15, or filed by mail after about mid-March, your return was very possibly not processed before the 4/15 cutoff for this first round of payments - if that happened, you'd get your check in late July or August.  If you filed before that though, your payment should follow the published schedule.

  3. Your source of income makes no difference on when you'll get your payment, it goes by the last two-digits of your social security number. So if you already filed, I'd follow the IRS chart.

    You have until October 15th, to file for your stimulus payment.
