I'm only 17 and go in casino when I go to Las Vegas or somewhere where they have casinos. I look old for my age and I guess I could pass for 21. Sometimes, I might even put on makeup to look older. One time when I was 12, I won about $10 and there was a staff person right behind me and she didn't even see me. When I go now, I don't play, I either sit or stand near the machine when my mom or dad goes because they have so much security now that I don't wanna get in trouble.

  1. They are much tougher in Illinois.  Was with my son in Illinois at one of the casino boats and they carded him.  He is 33.  AND, he looks his age.

  2. is this a question?

  3. I go all the time here in Reno. I am 55 though. If you are planning to make money at it-forget it. I have been playing for years and can tell you for a fact you will ALWAYS lose far more than you win.I play just for fun and to get out of the house. we always set limits so we are never really broke.

don't be in a hurry to get addicted to gambling. There are other things in life more fun, trust me.

  4. OK. I know teenagers are immortal, and nothing ever goes wrong, actions have no consequences, and they're smarter than everyone else...BUT-------

    1. You are committing a crime. The first time you are caught, you will probably simply be escorted off the premises and told in no uncertain terms not to gamble or go anywhere near the gaming areas, but you also might be ejected from the property and told not to return, or be arrested for trespassing. Awkward, if your friends or family are still in that hotel/casino.

    2. You can be arrested and charged with trespassing for being in the gaming areas. These days, just TRY to get a job--or an apartment--or a home loan--or even get admitted to college--with a criminal record. Scoff at this if you like--teenagers are immortal.

    3. If you win any substantial amount--$600 in some jurisdictions, $1200 in others--the machine will NOT pay you, because the jackpot is taxable. A slot attendant will have to take your ID to pay you, and then the **** will hit the fan, and you WILL be caught, and very possibly arrested.

By the way, you DON'T "look old for your age". You look...seventeen. The only reason you haven'r been caught yet is that no security guard has closely scrutinized you--there are thousands of casino patrons in the building at any one time, after all. But REST ASSURED---if any casino security guard looks at you closely for three seconds, he'll know you're underage--they're trained to spot people like you.

You'll be grown up soon enough. Don't get in what might be serious trouble by trying to imitate an adult. Would you walk into a bar, flash a fake ID, and start slamming back double whiskeys???

  5. Loitering is casinos is not allowed by minors, even if you're not playing. I don't care how old you think you look, you will get carded. I got carded all the time when I was in my early 20s, and I had been told on many occasions that I looked older than I was.

And hanging around your parents won't help. It will make you look even more like a kid since it's probably obvious that you're their child.

If you come to Las Vegas, plan on spending 100% of your time outside of the casinos.
