I'm only 9 weeks pregnant and have already gained 13 lbs. I am 5"4' and I weighed 100 lbs. prepregnancy. My doctors say it's good and that I should gain more because I'm underweight still. Has anyone else gained this much so soon in their pregnancy?

  1. Just remember one thing, you may be eating for two but that does not mean eat twice. Make healthy decisions about eating.

  2. Actually I'm opposite...I'm 9 weeks also and I've LOST almost 15 pounds due to morning sickness! That is probably okay for me though because I am overweight to begin with. If your doctor says its good then don't worry about it. Good luck and congrats!

  3. im 11 and half weeks and ive only gained a lil over a pound... but im 5'7 and 142 lbs so its different for everybody if your doctor says your good then dont worry about it. good luck

  4. when i was first pregnant i had gained 8lbs by 9 weeks pregnant which i thought was alot. i am only 5' and weighed about 105-110 before my pregnancy. people told me the same thing that since i was so little before that i could gain more. my doc said i should gain about 25lbs, i am now 27 weeks and i have already gained 30lbs! i don't no why, im pretty active but i will give in to my cravings now and then. hope this at least makes you feel better, just no that your not the only one!

  5. I am 11 weeks pregnant and 5'4.  When I first found out I was pregnant, I weighed right at 100 and since then I have gained 4 pounds.  They also told me I need to gain 28-40 pounds.  Maybe you are eating more and have more water weight and that is why you put on the pounds.  Its probably a good thing for you.  I try gaining more weight and eat all of the time, but for some reason I can't right now.  I am hopeful mine will start piling on soon.  Good Luck.
