I'm ordering personalized M&M's as a wedding token for guests. How many pounds should I order for 150 people?

The company gives a choice between 3 or 5 pounds. I just want to make sure I have enough for each favor box.

How big are your favor boxes?  

I think 20 lbs or 4-5# bags will be sufficient for a 2-2.5 oz serving per guest.

i would say that you're only gonna need the equivalent to a snacksize bag for each person.  I think those only weigh an ounce or two.  so figure 8 people to a pound.

a pack of M&M's is 1.8 oz's so i would think that that would be enough per person.

I would recommend a 5oz bag for each person,

5oz x 150 people=750 oz or about 47 pounds.  Get 10 (5pound) bags, and eat the leftovers .

If you get a five pound box, you will have enough to give just under a half of an ounce of M&M's for each person.  I say get three of the 5 pound boxes.
