I'm paranoid... because My telephone number called me but it had a different area code.. why?

well, lets say my number is 347-555-4444 and i received a call with the same number but a different areacode like 718-555-4444 what does that mean? Please don't tell me someone stold my number or I don't get it... what could have caused this. I already have a phone stalker could it be him? I'm really paranoid someone help.

Because one of the reasons we have area codes is so they can give out the same number to a variety of people. Don't worry... it was probably someone who decided to call their number and see who else has it.
