As of about a month ago the law changed, so that all US citizens need to have a passport to go to Canada and Mexico, or to come back from either.

No, you do not need a visa to enter Mexico, but you must travel with your valid unexpired passport - that you are a permanent resident in the US has no bearing on your foreign travel.  You will, though, need your Green Card to re-enter the US.

maybe go to www.travel.state.gov and learn more and you will need a us passport now to reenter the usa.

I take it you are a permanent resident alien?

Unless you are a US Citizen with a passport, you might be able to go to Mexico, but I am not sure that you might be able to get back into the United States.

No, as a US permanent resident and EU citizen you do not need a visa to enter Mexico.
