  1. You do not need a passport to enter Hawaii....it is part of the U.S.

What you DO need is a government issued photo I.D....and a passport is the best one to use.

Might as well get one; everyone is going to need one in the next few years anyway.

  2. I doubt you will need a passport. Hawaii is one of the states.

It's not like the Caribbean. It's not a separate country. It's not a bad idea to get a passport though. I would get it but I doubt you will need it just to go to Hawaii.

  3. Not.

Your source is mistaken.  You will not need a passport to fly from one state to another, even if it's an island in the middle of the pacific.

  4. It may be that your flight is either stopping or routed over canada or mexico.  In that case, it would be wise to have a passport.

Even a flight to PR could conceivably have a layover or unexpected stop in a foreign country.

  5. If you live in the USA no you will not need a passport.  But if like many other people using Yahoo you reside outside the USA yes you will need your passport.  I need a passport to go to Hawaii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. That is ridiculous. Even though Hawaii is far off of the coast, it is still a part of the United States. Thus you do NOT need a passport

  7. The person who told you that is flat wrong.  If you fly to Hawaii you are not leaving the US and thus do not need a passport to get back into the country (since you never left).  That same applies to travel to the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.  Look at the passport office web site which will verify what I have written here.  You will still need a photo ID to board your flight, but not necessarily a passport.

  8. As stated by a few people already, Hawaii is a state and as such a passport is not required to travel to or from it.  However, if you are taking one of the cruises that departs from hawaii and visits Fanning Island, Ensenada Mexico, or Vancouver Canada then you would need your passport to return to the states because you did travel to a foreign country.

It never hurts to get your passport anyway, that way you have it and don't have to worry.

  9. Last I heard, Hawaii is still part of the United States.

You should only need a passport if you leave the country and want to return.
